AIR DUCT CLEANING

Do your air ducts need cleaning?

If you can answer yes to any one or more of these questions, you should strongly consider having your air duct system cleaned.

  • Have you done any extensive remodeling to your home that would have stirred up a lot of dust?
  • Do any of the occupants suffer from allergies or asthma?
  • Yes, my air ducts have never been cleaned.
  • Do the air filters you use cost less than $2.00?
  • Have you had a fire in your home?
  • How often should my air ducts be cleaned?

In our opinion, if your air ducts have been professionally cleaned by a competent technician, they should not have to be re-cleaned unless one or more of the former conditions occur after you have your ducts cleaned.

Will cleaning my air ducts make me breathe easier?

A study conduced by the Annals of Allergy in December 1993 found that air duct sanitation may be conducive to decreasing the amount of fungal contamination in a residential HVAC system.  These graphs show the study's results of Colony Forming Units (CFU's) or viable mold spores before and after air duct sanitation.

Probably not! If your home has indoor air problems consisting of mold, bacteria, dust mites, etc. in the ductwork, then your air ducts need to be cleaned and sanitized by a professional Air Duct Cleaning Company. But, that is only the beginning of the treatment. When these contaminants escape from the ductwork, either you breathe them into your respiratory system,  or they fall to the floor. Every time you walk through the room or vacuum the room with a non-HEPA vacuum cleaner, you stir up a “dust storm” that becomes air-borne. This will enter your lungs and re-enter the air duct system. Therefore, you have not solved your problem.

There is a cure! RESTORx Northern Illinois can clean and disinfect your carpeting with Medi-Clean. This process is exclusive to RESTORx, and is the only known disinfecting cleaner that will destroy virtually every possible mold, bacteria, micro-organism, and even blood-borne pathogens in your carpeting. What is unique about this process, is it does not harm your carpeting.

If you want a total solution to your indoor air problems, call RESTORx today. RESTORx is the only company that can professionally clean and sanitize your ductwork, and MediClean all of your floors.

HOW MUCH IS IT GOING TO COST ME?

BASE PRICE:
$375.00 includes one unit with 8 to 17 vents

                        85.00 each additional unit(s)

                        10.00 additional vents over 17

                        Price includes sanitizing with Oxine.

MINIMUM PRICE:
$275.00 for 7 vents or less (condo, apartment, or very small house)

EXTRA CHARGE:
$75.00 for sealing duct work instead of sanitizing.

EXTRA CHARGE:
$35.00 for an electrostatic filter installed.

$25.00 for each additional filter.

PROCESS:

1)      The process begins with an inspection of the duct system to determine the lay out and the level of contamination.

2)      All registers and vent covers are removed for cleaning and sanitizing.

3)      Our portable vacuum units are then strategically attached to the system for evacuation of dust, dirt, and debris.

4)      Our mechanical rotary brushing system is then inserted into the duct work to brush loose the particulate.  Our high pressure air sweep is then inserted throughout the duct work system.  The debris and particulate is extracted and collected by our powerful duct vac units.

5)      The evaporator coils are washed with a mild coil cleaner and then rinsed with a sanitizer.

6)      The furnace is cleaned including the blower motor housing, return plenum, supply plenum, filter compartment, and the condensate drain pan.

7)      The entire duct system is treated with a special sanitizer called Oxine.  This eliminates mold, mildew, fungus, viruses, and bacteria.  (If asked: Oxine is the only sanitizer endorsed by the EPA for use in HVAC systems.)

All registers and vent covers are reinstalled to their original position.

An  economy grade furnace filter is installed as part of the base price or an electrostatic filter is installed for the additional charge.

The system is then turned back on and tested for operation.
